Karibu

‘Karibu’ is the Swahili word for ‘Welcome.’ The Karibu Ceremony is taking place on Saturday 19 October 2024 and is a grand opening occasion to celebrate and officially welcome new members to the ALX family as of the signature rituals at ALX, occurring at the beginning of every cohort.

 

You will join this great tradition as you start your Pathway journey. 

 

WHAT IS KARIBU?

Karibu is a celebration that marks the beginning of your ALX journey and will take place on 19 October 2024.

  • To Welcome: To celebrate and welcome you to the ALX family and be reminded of our mission, values, objectives and vision.
  • To Start: To mark the beginning of your programme, work cycles and the journey you will take as an ALX Pathway learner.
  • To Connect: To create a friendly platform for you to get to know other ALX Pathway participants and begin building your powerful network of peers.

Our Founder

I believe that those of us who are privileged enough to be educated, healthy, and part of powerful networks should not be doing easy things. The only way to justify our privilege is to do the hard things that society demands of us — to solve tough problems and create opportunities for others. I launched The Room to bring the most ambitious ‘doers’ together to do these hard things that will change the world.
